New friends are hard to find...

You know you get to a certain age and I won't say what that age is....but the children have flown the coop and you find yourself with only your hobby to keep you company.  Don't feel bad, alone time is good, right?  So my scrapbooking, crafty little self fills my time with attending crops (summer months they are hard to find!), getting crafty and thinking, just thinking mind you, of rearranging my scrapbook room and other areas of my house.  So, where do the new friends come in you ask?  Well, about a year ago, maybe longer, I meet a wonderful woman at a Michaels store in the scrapbook aisle of all places!  She's a wonderfully faithful woman who spends her time creating cards for the elderly, among sooo many other things.  Anyway, we got together one, maybe two times and she ups and moves to New Jersey!  Its a much slower pace for her as she has been struggling with health issues (thankfully she is on the mend).  Well, I don't care for driving highways and its not like New Jersey is that far, maybe an hour drive (for me, lol).  But, oh the hassel of toting my stuff to New Jersey, Lancaster, anywhere.  I simply don't care for it - I do it, but that part I do not like.  Anyway....
here's a link to her blog so you can follow her too http://cardsbyrosalind.blogspot.com/.  She asked me recently to show her how I made some cards last year around the holidays that included a little tea bag gift and I can not for the life of me remember exactly which card because I made many (which is a herculean task for me as I am a one and done person who doesn't like to duplicate anything).  So after thinking on it and not being able to remember exactly which card she was talking about, I told her I had recently fell in love with a card that has a pop up portion in which you can slip a tea bag - its my new favorite card.  And here it is...
Now this one was done for a tea party invitation for my grand-daughter,
I know! Precious right? and it was also used for a contest @ www.CropChocolate.com

So, I will travel to New Jersey and I will make some of these with Roz and will adapt them to fit whatever she needs.  Because even though she's further away, new friends are hard to find.  I'll let you know how them come out.

CropChocolate "Closed Sunday" Feature

Guess who was asked to be the "Closed Sunday" Feature on CropChocolate.com???  If you guessed me, you guessed right!

It was very exciting to be asked, answer the questions asked and CC did the rest.  I must say, I came out looking very good!  So, thank Jon and McCall and all my CC friends who commented.  You are all so very sweet and I can't believe how lucky I am to have found such a great community of crafters brought together by a wonderfully customer focused company.

CropChocolate challenges compiled

So, I suppose this is to be my very 2nd post! I'm learning so bear with me. Here are cards I've made for Crop Chocolate challenges. I just got a new camera so no more phone pictures as soon as I learn how to use it with my computer....slow and steady wins the race.

This was for a tri-fold contest

This one was for a tic tac toe challenge
This one had to have bling (I think)

This has become my very favorite card to make; so easy and the flower ribbon
is actually part of my daughter's jr. prom dress - so I also used it on her scrapbook album pages - FUN!

"LOVE Captured" tag is from a CC challenge for Valentines Day

So, how's this for a 2nd post - hopefully I will find time to do more - seems fairly easy peasy.

Toodles for now.
